Pocket Sprung

 What is pocket sprung?

pocketspringpicAt The Bed Centre, we understand how comfort is as personal and individual as you are. While some people prefer soft beds with plenty of give, for others the firmer the bed, the better.
We also understand that choosing a bed can seem a little overwhelming, with so many choices of designs, springs and mattress fillings available.
Pocket Sprung Beds and Mattresses Liverpool and MerseysideWe believe the mattress should adjust to you – not the other way round. So for your complete ease and comfort, our pocket sprung mattresses contain hundreds of springs placed closely together under layers of sumptuous fillings.
Each precision-made coil is wrapped in its own individual soft cloth sleeve, holding the spring at exactly the right tension and allowing it to move independently. This means each spring is poised to adjust and respond to your every movement for a deeply supportive sleep, all night long.
You’ll find that every range has a choice of mattresses with different ’spring counts’, indicated by the number after the model name, e.g. the Athena 2000 has 2,000 individual pocket springs in a kingsize mattress. The more springs there are, the less body weight has to be supported by each spring and the mattress will be more supportive and responsive.

Every mattress can be purchased on its own for or in combination with a divan base for optimum comfort.

Bigger is better

There is no doubt about it, when it comes to your bed you should buy the biggest one you can fit in your bedroom, especially if you share your bed with a partner.
If you share a double bed, each of you has a space less than 70cm wide in which to sleep – that’s less than in a single bed. Upgrading to a king or superking size will give you extra space to stretch out in comfort, undisturbed by your partner.

Handy storage

If you choose a divan set (mattress and matching divan base), you can choose to have handy storage drawers in the base – a great place to store your bed linen!
